Purchased this upgrade for my Son’s 2013 Lincoln MKS and it was worth every penny. The screen is very clear, colorful, and it made the backup camera clearer as well. I had to reuse the mounting brackets and hardware from the Sync 2 screen which worked perfectly, and the hardware fit well. Buy it!
Just installed my Sync 1 to 3 upgrade in 2016 F150. Couldn't be happier. Wiring harness much simpler to install than some of those high dollar kits. Customer service exceptional. I had a couple questions. Responded very fast. Highly recommend All Things Sync.
My apim was failing on my sync 2 unit this is such a massive upgrade just the CarPlay makes it worth it for me being seemless integration with all oem systems makes it even better
Upgraded because the original Bluetooth module failed, well worth the money wife loves the new interface, the speed and touchscreen sensitivity is so much better.
Device works as suppose to. Huge upgrade from sync 2 to the sync 3 everything was included, install was easy and dealing with customer service was exceptional to place my order. Highly recommend. 5/5 for both the product and company itself.
This kit is completely plug and play. No modification necessary. Great upgrade over the sync 2. The navigation is much nicer than the sync2. Seamless apple carplay integration.
The original Sync 2 system in our '16 F450 was a joke. There was no damage nor abuse to the original system and yet it would take multiple touches to the screen to get any response. This upgrade was not only easy to do on a technical level (took us about an hour), but the usability of the Sync (3) System is worlds apart from the original and is now usable (it was actually dangerous to try to interact with the original Sync 2 system while driving because of the severity of the distraction). That's all gone and we now have a touch screen that not only works, but is easier to navigate and far more reliable to use. Highly recommended.
I have a 2017 Mustang with the Sync 3 radio so when I bought my 2015 F-150 by that point I was already spoiled with CarPlay and was devastated about my truck’s antique radio. Ordered the product and it was literally plug n play with no issues with the kit they provided. Installation only took around 30 minutes and climate control, backup camera, and steering buttons worked liked a charm. I’m highly satisfied with my Sync 3 now.

My 2016 F150 head unit would take a few minutes to turn on and apple car play and Bluetooth stopped working. I bought a replacement APIM from All Things Sync and now everything works again! It was a very easy install, took about 30 minutes with no prior experience pulling off trim pieces and watching a you tube video step by step. If you know what you are doing, could probably be done in under 10 minutes. The best part was the APIM was plug and play. It came already programmed and worked immediately. I can’t believe I waited months when this was so easy and less expensive then I had anticipated. Would definitely order from them again.
Made it feel like a new car. Install was pretty straightforward, if you've ever put a car radio in, you could definitely do this.

This is an expensive fix from the dealer. This is a great solution that works really simply.
I acknowledge that it's expensive but, if you can afford it, do it today. I bought my 2011 Explorer at the end of last summer and rarely used the Sync 2 that came stock because of all the reasons people have already shared about not liking it. I used it as a radio and connected via Bluetooth to stream Spotify. With the upgrade I am now using all the features in my vehicle and the upgraded navigation is awesome. My favorite is being able to tell anyone, "Ill be there in X minutes". Easy install. The most difficult part is removing the trim pieces at the beginning. I do wish the replacement USB parts for the media hub under the radio fit better but I have a cable plugged in permanently so I don't need to mess with it anyways. Thank you to everyone that shared a review before, it helped with my decision and I will add mine to the long list of 5 star reviews.
The 8" Sync 3 screen in my '17 Mustang GT350R failed as it stopped responding to touch. I took my car to my local Ford dealership (Hansel Ford, Petaluma) who told me that my screen wasn't responding because my APIM had failed. They quoted me $1600 for repair to which I declined. While doing some research in online forums, I came across AllThingsSync. Mitral was very quick to respond. He told me that I didn't likely need a new APIM, just a display. I had my eye on the 8.46" updated display and purchased that. I sent Mitral my existing display and APIM and he updated my APIM to version 3.4 and loaded all the latest NA maps free of charge. The new display looks great and is just as snappy as the older 8.0" screen. I was able to go on FMods and modify the new display (custom backgrounds, etc). I strongly recommend you purchase from this company. Mitral is a man with integrity as he could have easily told me my APIM was broken and needed replacement. Instead, he was honest and was quick to respond to all of my questions over several emails.

This upgrade took my 2015 Explorer from the old Sync 2, which had limited functionality, to something modern and useful. The installation itself was super simple. Everything came in perfect condition, quickly, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
I purchased this after seeing several recommendations online to use this shop for the Sync 3 upgrade. I placed the order expecting it to take at least a week or more. Unit was shipped next day and arrived a few days later. Install was easy and everything worked perfectly. My only complaint is I didn’t do this years ago when I first found out about it!!! I’ve recommended it to several people and will continue to do so. Everything literally works flawlessly!!!!
